
DO I need a reservation?
We call it a registered check-in time! But, Yes! A check-in time guarantees you a spot. We do take walk-ins if we are not at capacity, but we can never guarantee we can fit you in. You can register for a check-in at any time and payment is due upon arrival.
Are staff members on the course?
Our trained Crew are positioned both on the ground – and on the ropes – at all times. Your High-Country Adventure is self-guided and we do keep a comfortable distance. However, should you need us for any reason, our team is always there to encourage you on or get you out of a bind. Private guides can be schedule a head of time for a fee (if available).
What’s Your Dog Policy?
We love having furry friends onsite at both locations as long as they are well behaved and leased. Dogs are not allowed to be on the course or under it at anytime.
DO we offer any discounts?
As a veteran owned and operate business, we are proud to offer a military and first responder discount. We also offer a group rate for groups 10 or more.
Is there a minimum & maximum height/weight requirement?
To climb solo, guest must be 52" tall, 8 years old and 50 lbs. but not exceed 250 lbs. Guest under 7 years old have to be 46" tall and be 50-250 pounds and MUST be accompanied on the course at all times by an adult or a private guide (if available). For our Little Explorer course, guests must be able to wear a helmet and walk unassisted. Recommended for ages 2-5 years old.
What Forms of Payment do You Accept?
We accept cash and all major cards. Card transactions are subject to a surcharge fee of 3.75%. A portion of that fee does go back to a N.C. nonprofit.
Can I Use My Own Equipment?
WRAC does not allow climbers to use their own gear. We will provide everything you will need!
What is your refund and cancelation policy?
Our registered check in time is our way to provide families a sense of comfort to guarantee their adventure without purchasing tickets ahead of time. We understand that personal situations or unforeseen weather systems can ruin the fun which is why we do not sell tickets prior to your arrival time.
Our tickets are non refundable, so in the event that we do have to close down due to severe weather, we will gladly assist you in rescheduling your adventure or provide a rain check voucher for a later date.
What should I wear?
You will want to wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in. No dresses. No flip-flops, open toe or open heel shoes are allowed. Ensure shoe laces are tied and shoes are secure. If you have long hair, please have something to secure it up during your climb! We require pockets to be empty. You can't take anything in the air with you that could potentially drop on someone below.
Can I register for both the adventure course and Alpine coaster?
You absolutely can! We ask that guests register for their Adventure Course experience FIRST and then chose a time 1 and half hours later for the Alpine Coaster. The coaster wait can vary drastically due to several factors and we would hate for you to miss your climbing time.
Is the Course open Year round?
The rope course is only open seasonally during the months of May thru October. The coaster next door is open year round.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Everyone’s High-Country experience is a little different but on average we notice our guest completing there adventure in an hour and half with a half hour of instructions and an hour of climb time.
Can I Bring My Own Camera, Phone, Go-Pro?
Due to safety, personal cameras, phones and go-pros will not be allowed on the course.
Parking
Parking for the Adventure Course is located to the right of the building. Due to limited parking, we do not allow campers or trailers in our parking lots. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.ar. We will provide everything you will need!
